Feeling connected and informed is integral to the working-from-home experience. Nothing beats being in the office with colleagues, but working remotely is engaging if you make an effort. Set up Skype, Teams or Zoom for group interaction and speak with your manager about scheduling team meetings.
Importantly, if you have something urgent to communicate, use text message or a phone call first. Do not assume an email or in-house message will be read the moment you send it.
Make sure everyone knows when each person is “at work”, taking a break, or finishing for the day. It’s all about keeping in touch.
